About Me:
I am from the Netherlands, married to one wife and together we have four children and a growing number of grandchildren. I enjoy seeing people grow and develop, and love encouraging/provoking them to do the hard work of critical thinking towards articulating their beliefs and views, and living these out. I was formerly trained as a social worker/counsellor and later in life studied theology, leadership and management only to find out that the more you read and study the more you realise how little I know!
Main coach-mentoring focus:
General life stuff, theology/philosophy, spiritual direction, leadership.
My dreams/goal/vision...
My basic approach to coach-mentoring is that, to flourish in all aspects of our lives, we first need to be honest with ourselves; what does the unpolished version of me look like? Only then steps towards change become possible.
Things I love to do:
Walk, read, study, preach, teach, have fun, mildly provoke, question the status quo of anything (including myself), eat cheese and drink wine.
One fun fact about me:
When I was three years old the doctor pulled the nail of my big toe (I don’t remember why). It never grew back and today my big toe looks like an alien.
I believe Coach-Mentoring is important, because…
...having someone journeying and conversing with you in a non-judgmental way is part of God’s design for man. Coach-mentoring provides the environment for a person to discover, grow, (re)articulate, and flourish.
